The Johnson Controls V-3800-651 valve is a 3/4” union angle valve which is applied in HVAC and plumbing applications. That’s a normally open (N/O) valve – that is, by default, the valve is configured to allow passage of water or steam. If the pressure is reduced to a certain level, normally 3 to 6 PSI in this model, the valve will shut to stop the flow. This makes it useful where there is need to shut off the process automatically whenever pressure drops below a required pressure, for instance protecting some other equipment or in preventing system overflows. The union angle design makes the installation and maintenance easy because pipes from any direction can be connected easily.
