Collector Boxes

Collector boxes, also known as a plenum, are a crucial component of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. It is a box or chamber that is connected to the ductwork of the HVAC system, and serves as a central point for the distribution of heated or cooled air throughout a building.

Typically located in the attic or crawlspace of a building, it is often made of metal or insulated material to prevent heat loss or gain.

Furnace Collector Box is responsible for directing the flow of air from the HVAC unit to the various rooms in a building through the ductwork. It also acts as a filter housing, where air filters can be installed to remove dust, dirt, and other contaminants from the air.

Additionally, some collector box HVACs also have built-in dampers that can be adjusted to control the flow of air in specific areas of the building. Overall, a furnace collector box plays a vital role in the proper functioning of an HVAC ventilation system, ensuring that the air in a building is always clean, comfortable, and at the right temperature.
