Taco Comfort Solutions is well-known for its line of circulator pumps. Its pumps are used in a variety of HVAC and plumbing applications to move water or other fluids through a system.

The Taco 110 series pump and the Taco 1600 series pump are both types of circulator pumps that are commonly used in HVAC and plumbing systems. Both pumps circulate hot or chilled water through a closed-loop system.

The 110 series pumps are compact and easy to install, and are available in a variety of sizes, with flow rates ranging from 0.5 to 10 GPM (gallons per minute) and head capabilities of up to 15 feet. These pumps are typically used in residential and light commercial applications, such as hydronic heating and cooling systems, solar heating systems, and geothermal systems. Taco 110 series pump parts are built with a cast iron body and an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seal, making them durable.

The pumps of the 1600 series are built for heavier-duty industrial and commercial use. Taco 1600 pumps are built with a bronze body and cartridge-style design that allows for easy maintenance. Its pump has a very energy-efficient ECM (electronically commutated motor) that can save energy expenses by up to 85% when compared to conventional PSC (permanent split capacitor) motors. They come in a range of sizes, with flow rates of between 0.5 and 12 GPM (gallons per minute) and heads up to 20 feet. Ensure maximum efficiency with Taco 1600 series pump parts.

What is the proper way to bleed a taco circulating pump?

To bleed a taco circulating pump, you will need to follow these steps:

  • Locate the bleed screw on the pump, which is usually on the top or side of the pump housing.
  • Turn off the power to the pump and close the isolation valves on the inlet and outlet of the pump.
  • Using a flathead screwdriver or a hex wrench, spin the bleed screw counterclockwise to release it.
  • Switch on the pump's power and let it run for a short while.
  • Using a hex wrench or flathead screwdriver, tighten the bleed screw by rotating it in a clockwise direction.
  • Turn off the power to the pump and open the isolation valves on the inlet and outlet of the pump.
  • Repeat the process until water comes out of the bleed screw, which shows that all the trapped air has been removed from the pump.
  • Once you have bled the pump, check the operation of the system, and check for leaks, vibrations, and other issues.
