Contactor

AC Contactor

A switch that manages the power supply to the air conditioner is known as an AC Contactor. It is normally found in the air conditioner's control panel and is controlled by the thermostat. When the thermostat calls for cooling, it sends a low voltage electrical signal to the contactor, which closes the circuit and allows power to flow to the air conditioner. The HVAC contactor then remains closed until the thermostat no longer calls for cooling, at which point it opens the circuit and cuts power to the air conditioner.

The cause of HVAC contactor problems can be anything from wear and tear to corrosion to loose connections. The air conditioner may not start or may abruptly cut off if the contactor is not operating properly. The air conditioner may operate constantly in some situations due to a defective contactor, which might result in higher energy expenses and electricity bills.

It is crucial to have your air conditioner's contactor inspected and fixed if you feel that it isn't functioning properly.
