The Trane COM8476 is a single-phase, hermetic compressor designed for use in Trane HVAC systems employing R-22 refrigerant. This compressor is the main part of AC system and has a rotolock connection for installation of the unit. It creates a cycle where the refrigerant is compressed and depressurized over and over again while it takes heat from your indoor environment and expels it to the outdoors. The Trane COM8476 is capable of cooling small to medium-sized houses with a maximum BTU of 14,000 BTU or 1.2 tons.
