The York 025-32904-000 is a 1-3/8 inch Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) with an innovative and enhanced mechanism to better control temperature in HVAC equipment. This is a sustained brass valve and has a specific diameter of 3/8 inches and is suitable with R-22 refrigerant. The TXV controls the amount of the refrigerant allowed to flow to the evaporator coil, thus, control the system pressure and temperature. Regulating the rate of flow of refrigerant ensure maximum cooling capability and no overcharging since that results to the inefficiency of the AC or damage. The York TXV is required in efforts to uphold the stability and efficiency of HVAC using R-22 refrigerant.

Customer Questions
What maintenance is required for the York 025-32904-000 Thermal Expansion Valve?

The valve should be inspected periodically for refrigerant leaks and proper sensing bulb placement. Keep the capillary tube secured and free from kinks or damage. Ensure system pressure and superheat settings remain within specification for stable operation.

What are common issues with the York 025-32904-000 Thermal Expansion Valve?

  • Incorrect superheat control.
  • Valve sticking or blockage.
  • Refrigerant underfeeding or overfeeding.
  • Fluctuating evaporator pressure leading to unstable cooling.
  • Faulty sensing bulb causing inaccurate temperature response.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Isolate power and safely recover refrigerant before starting.

Step 2: Remove old valve assembly and thoroughly clean joint surfaces.

Step 3: Braze new valve in correct flow direction, protecting valve body from excessive heat.

Step 4: Install capillary bulb securely on suction line and insulate properly.

Step 5: Evacuate system, perform leak test, then charge refrigerant and verify superheat settings.
