In this article, we will discuss chillers, error codes, problems, and troubleshooting.
You are planning a cooling system for your complete building. Then you need to know about chillers. The air conditioner suffices for cooling small areas. But the complete building needs a chiller system. It is a centralized system and a giant unit of air conditioners.
You can find three categories of chillers:
Air-cooling chillers,
Water-cooling chillers,
Evaporative condensate chillers.
PartsHnC has an enormous collection of all types of heating, ventilating, and cooling system replacement parts at a low cost with excellent quality.
About York chiller:
York manufactures heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They have 130 years of experience in HVAC manufacturing for industrial and commercial use.
Why York chillers?
York HVAC chiller systems are known for their efficiency, multi-range, smart technology, sustainable energy, and best variable speed drivers. That is why most HVAC engineers recommend York chillers. York manufactured all HVAC appliances specially made to satisfy customer needs.
Error codes of chillers:
0 for all is ok
1 for datum type ok test failed
2 for English text too long
3 for floating-point exception
4 for get-packet failed
5 for get-type failed
6 for invalid unit conversion
7 for invalid hardware selection
8 for real-time fault
9 for Spanish text too long
10 for thread exited
11 for thread failed
12 for thread stalled
13 for Io board reset
14 for Bram invalid
15 for Bacnet setup failed
Note: Check the error codes to identify the York chiller problem.
What are the common problems and how to troubleshoot them?
Safety rules:
Before beginning any repairs, turn off the power supply.
Wear gloves
Work under the supervision of HVAC specialists.
Tips for York chiller's long life:
Buy the best quality parts. PartsHNC sells all HVAC parts at an affordable price range
Clean the chiller regularly
Regular maintenance is important
Do not ignore the problems
Chiller is not running:
A problem in blower circuit breaker- Circuit overload or short circuit fails the blower circuit breaker
A short circuit happens because loose wiring does not complete the circuit
Check your power switch is on or off- Switch on the power switch
The chiller is not cooling:
Inspect the temperature of the coolant, then the temperature goes down and the evaporator may be iced up. Set the temperature at the setpoint
The chiller is not working properly:
Closed or partially closed valves create problems in chiller work
The failed pump also creates a problem
Inadequate coolant volume or process line restriction may prevent the adequate flow of liquid through the process coolant loop
High-pressure discharge:
It is a common issue for chillers
High-pressure discharge caused because of bad water treatment regimes
Minerals and dust are observed by air, and it goes into a condenser water loop
Dirt makes coated layer on the condenser
That dust and minerals create clogs in pipes and heat exchanger
Stop the reduction of airflow and water flow
Low-pressure discharge:
A partially closed suction valve is the reason for low-pressure discharge
It happens when the ambient air temperature goes low
Low suction pressure:
Low refrigerant charge and leaking caused by low suction pressure
It may block your expansion valve. If your expansion valve is blocked, then clean it or replace it
Clean your filter drivers and the strainers
Check if the condenser water level is low or high
High-suction pressure:
The excessive load may increase the suction pressure on the chiller
Inspect the expansion valve. It could overfeed refrigerant
Remove excess refrigerant
Check the values of temperature, setpoints, and pressure of the system
Electrical faults:
Frequent changes in voltage supply create issues in an electric unit
Electric switchgear must be correct, or it will create problems in the electric system
Fix all cables and wires correctly
Check fuses and breakers work correctly
Inspect your motor temperature
Controls:
Problem with flow sensor and paddle type sensor
Issues with evaporator and condenser preventing it from freezing
Many reasons behind the failure of controls
