Trane VAL8057 Expansion Valve 5 Ton

The Trane VAL8057 is a 5-ton sweat connection expansion valve for HVAC systems using R410A refrigerant. The expansion valve plays an essentialpart in air conditioning systems. It provides to change of the pressure differential between the system's high-pressure liquid and low-pressure gas sides and the flow of refrigerant. A high-pressure liquid refrigerant feeds the expansion valve. The pressure decreases considerably when it goes through a small hole in the valve. As such, there is a pressure drop across the refrigerant resulting in part of it being evaporated while it picks up heat. This cool, low-pressure mixture of liquid and gas refrigerant once inside the evaporator coil absorbs heat from the cools space.
