Amana-Goodman SPKT01 Contactor Single Point

The Amana-Goodman SPKT01 Contactor Single Point is a part of many HVAC systems. It behaves as an electrical relay through which high current to the compressor motor is allowed to pass through. This contactor is intended for single phase use and it a strong magnetic coil to make and break the contact. When the thermostat demands cooling or heating, the contactor gets a low voltage signal from the control board. This signal energises the coil and in turn develops magnetic field that causes the contactor’s contact to close. This enables high current to be supplied to the compressor motor thus starts the cooling or heating process.
