The Rheem-Ruud SP12049B is a Pilot/Cable Assembly, that is needed to ignite the burner in Rheem-Ruud gas furnaces and boilers. This version is made from a tough copper based alloy that has high heat resistance capabilities. The Pilot/Cable Assembly consists of two major components: a pilot tube and a gas line cable; the pilot tube is used to ignite the gas-line cable. A pilot tube is a thin, empty tube that has a constant flame. When it is cold in the house, this flame ignites the main burner.
