Trane MOT16925 1/3HP ECM Motor 120-240V

The Trane MOT16925 is an Electronically Commutated Motor specifically for use with Trane HVAC systems. ECM motors have certain advantages over the AC motors that are used in the HVAC systems. One advantage is that they are able to throttle their speed according to the load prevailing in the system. This variable speed operation means that the motor is more efficient and less noisy than the fixed speed AC motors. Induction AC motors are fixed speed motors which means that during part load conditions the motors continue to consume energy unnecessarily. The ECM motor can decrease its speed during such times and therefore use less energy.
