The Johnson Controls M9220 BDA 3 is a robust electric damper actuator designed to offer high level control on the flow of air in HVAC systems. In the event of a power failure the internal spring repositions the actuator to normally closed position thereby switching off the damper. This fail-safe design will close the damper automatically should power fail and could prevent frozen pipes or protect equipment in cooler climates. The M9220-BDA-3 has torque output of 177 lb-in, and can easily adjust most damper sizes utilised in air handling units, VAV systems, and other heavy applications in HVAC. The unit is also protected from high temperatures which means it can handle temperatures of up to 131°F.
