The Johnson Controls JG24B020 is a direct-acting electric zone valve applied for controlling hot water or steam in HVAC systems. This valve is a normally open type and that means that it opens to allow fluid flow when it is not supplied with power. The valve body is constructed from solid brass to allow it to withstand high temperatures as well as pressure forms. This is rated for high temperature, it can handle fluids that range from -22°F to 240°F which makes the steam application possible. When the actuator is connected to 120-volt power, the valve closes to shut off the flow of fluids.
