The Trane HTR9494 is an 160W, 200V crankcase heater belt for refrigeration and air conditioning systems to avoid refrigerant migration and oil slugging. Crankcase heaters are essential parts of systems that function in cold climates. They supply a regulated amount of heat to the crankcase of the compressor and maintain the refrigerant in a gaseous state thus avoiding concentration of the refrigerant in the oil. This accumulation, known as oil slugging, can cause a lot of harm to the compressor in the system.
