The Carrier EA36YP020 is a thermostatic expansion valve used in air conditioning and refrigeration application. It is a core instrument that regulates the amount of refrigerant that has to get to the evaporator coil so as to enhance the efficiency of the system. The valve utilizes a bi-metal spring that responds to the variation of temperature. When the temperature in the evaporator coil rises, the spring expands to allow less flow of the refrigerant to occur, an increase in temperature makes the spring extend, minimizing the flow of refrigerant.
