DESV-10

The Titus DESV-10 is a 10-inch digital variable air volume (VAV) box that keeps different building sections at a consistent temperature and humidity level. It is a component of a larger HVAC system, a VAV system, that controls the quantity of conditioned air distributed to various zones through the use of dampers. Due to the absence of an internal control system, the DESV-10 can only function with an external controller, such as the Titus Digital Controller. By communicating with the DESV-10 and receiving a temperature setpoint for the selected zone, this controller accurately controls the airflow by altering the internal damper. As only the necessary amount of conditioned air is sent to each zone, this exact control promotes both energy economy and maximum comfort.

What are common issues with the Titus HVAC DESV-10 Digital VAV?

  • Damper sticking or restricted movement due to dust buildup.
  • Actuator failure causing improper airflow control.
  • Sensor drift leading to inaccurate temperature or airflow readings.
  • Communication errors with building automation system.
  • Airflow imbalance affecting zone comfort.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Shut off HVAC system power and isolate duct airflow.

Step 2: Mount digital VAV in correct airflow direction using structural supports.

Step 3: Connect ductwork ensuring airtight seals and proper alignment.

Step 4: Install external controller wiring since unit has no built-in control system.

Step 5: Verify damper movement, restore power, and test airflow calibration for correct zone performance.
