The Rheem-Ruud 47-25349-09 Auto Limit Switch is a Protection device that protects the HVAC equipment from overheating. It has a small device SPST connector; it operates at 24 volts. Functionally, the limit switch prevents the temperature level of the system to rise beyond a certain level of 120°F to 140°F. When temperatures go a notch higher than this point, the switch quickly cuts off the electricity supply to the HVAC unit to prevent injury. When the system has cooled down the switch resets and normal functioning of the system can resume. This limit switch can be mainly found in Rheem and Ruud HVAC systems safeguard furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps.
