Trane HTR1226 Crankcase Heater 5/8" Diameter 7" 460 V 60 W LDS HTR

The Trane HTR1226 Crankcase Heater in an example of small electrical resistance heater used on HVAC compressors. It is installed by the crankcase of the compressor, it’s used in maintaining the oil temperatures. This way the oil does not become overly viscous and hence risks originating a situation that would not allow the compressor to start or to run at all. At the same time, it prevents oil temperature from on the other side from peaking, which may lead to oil deterioration. The Trane is a petite item, which is about 6” in length, 0.9” in height and 4” in width. It has a 60-watt power volume. The size of the heating element is shown by the 5/8” diameter regarding the heating element itself.
