The Trane VAL8718 is a Thermal Expansion Valve intended to offer accurate control of refrigerant in 4-ton R410A HVAC systems commonly used in today’s homes. Topping out at just under 4.5 inches in length this valve is an essential component in any effort to increase the efficiency of the system. They provide control where it operates as an automated expansion valve based on the temperature of the evaporator coil. Through a perfect control of the caliber of refrigerant that is fed to the coil; the Trane denies both underflow and overflow. An undercharged coil reduces the cooling capacity, on the other hand, an overcharged coil puts pressure on the compressor.
