The Sporlan Controls 154593 is a 3/8-inch by 3/8-inch ODF (O-ring Face Seal) thermal expansion valve (TXV) with a 5 foot capillary tube. It is mostly utilised in commercial air conditioning systems, where it regulates the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil, contributing significantly to the preservation of system efficiency and performance. A sensor that is integrated inside the TXV continually measures the pressure inside the evaporator coil. The temperature differential between the refrigerant vapour exiting the evaporator and its saturation temperature at the current pressure is known as the superheat, and this is what the pre-set valve is designed to maintain. The TXV automatically modifies the opening of its internal valve in response to the difference between the temperature it senses and the target temperature.
