The Lennox 18M40 ODF Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a control part of Lennox air conditioners made of brass that is durable. It is an essential component in the system that ensures the maximum effectiveness of the system and cooling. It is connectable with a 3/8-Inch inlet and a 1/2-Inch ODF (Outside Diameter Flare) for refrigerant. The TXV uses a long, thin capillary tube (30 Inches in this case) to measure the temperature within the evaporator coil. Depending on the temperature it regulates the amount of refrigerant that enters the coil in the evaporator.
