The Trane VAL7467 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is an essentialpart of your Trane air conditioning system and unlike simple on/off valves, the TXV is critical to proper cooling. With a thermal sensor bulb that is connected by a long and thin capillary tube, the TXV regulates the amount of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil depending on its temperature. This ensures that the coil is well capable of absorbing the heat that is required to heat the rooms without freezing up and causing more harm to your system. This uses sweat connections for hassle-free installation and a non-bleeding design for accurate control of the refrigerant. The Trane TXV is usually used in air conditioners with 2.5 tonnage and above.
