The Trane VAL7652 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is an essentialpart of your Trane a/c system and is 4.5 inches long. Unlike the simple on/off valves, the TXV is an extremely essentialpart of your air conditioning system. The TXV works with a thermal sensor bulb and a long capillary tube that makes the flow of refrigerant to depend on the evaporator coil temperature. This keeps the coil from icing up while at the same time providing the better cooling as required by the refrigerator. This has a sweat connection for installation, a 15% bleed rate for steady operation, and a capacity of 1 ton. It is constructed from stainless steel and is suitable for use with R-22 refrigerants, and has a pressure capacity of up to 500 PSI.
