The Trane VAL9481 is a thermal expansion valve designed specifically for R410A refrigerant HVAC systems. This valve regulates the flow of refrigerant through the system. A dam that allows only the exact amount of refrigerant to flow under pressure. The TXV provides a control loop on the refrigerant flow, allowing for improved efficiency and performance of the system. Heat pumps and air conditioners use a refrigerant-filled detecting bulb and the TXV is used. The temperature of refrigerant exiting the evaporator coil varies with the pressure inside the sensor bulb.
