The Trane VAL10493 Thermal expansion valve is a special TXV for use in HVAC systems. This R-410A refrigerant valve is to control the flow of refrigerant through this evaporator coil to get the cooling from this coil at the desired level. It is the temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator coil that causes TXVs to respond. When the coil temperature decreases, the TXV limits the refrigerant flow, to prevent overcooling and keep evaporator pressure at a constant. Straight-through flow design, and sturdy brass construction for long-lasting performance. The 8-ton capacity offers usage with better-sized HVAC systems.
