The Trane VAL10484 Electronic Expansion Valve is just 1.85" long and is an integral part of modern air conditioning systems. EEVs are electronic actuators that control the flow of refrigerant through the system with precision, unlike conventional valves. The detecting bulb is what makes its functionality depend on the temperature of refrigerant entering the evaporator coil. The electronic actuator is based on this temperature and a preprogrammed setting and accurately controls the valve opening to allow the correct amount of refrigerant to enter the evaporator coil. It allows the coil to absorb heat from your living area efficiently and also prevents the coil from being flooded with excess refrigerant, which lowers efficiency.
