The Trane VAL12789 is a thermostatic expansion valve designed for use in Trane HVAC systems of 6 tons capacity. This valve is mainly responsible for precisely controlling the flow of the system’s refrigerant. It's like an intelligent valve that changes itself depending on temperature. The TXVs operate by measuring the temperature of the refrigerant exiting the evaporator coil with a measuring bulb. When the temperature rises, the valve widens to make the most efficient cooling, letting more of the cool refrigerant into the coil.
