The Trane SWT3209 is a high pressure switch for refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It protects since it looks at the pressures to make sure that the compressor electrical circuit is cut off if the pressure surpasses the predetermined amount. The switch is 6" long and 1.95" tall. The shell is waterproof and it is composed of sturdy stainless steel. When the pressure in the system reaches 650 psi, the switch opens an internal electrical contact that is normally closed and shuts down the compressor. This prevents potential harm due to too high pressure. However, the switch is reset when the pressure is below 500 psi.
