Trane SWT04558 Thermal Switch

The Trane SWT04558 is a thermal switch which keeps the Trane HVAC systems from either overheating or freezing. Just imagine electricity stop working when temperatures rise too high; that is an autopilot safety mechanism that switches off the power. This particular switch opens and closes at 145°F ± 5° and in this case opens and closes at 115°F ± 5°. The switch also leads to a circuit disconnection if the temperature inside the HVAC system increases to 145°F and this halts the unit to prevent further damage. On the other hand, the switch returns to normal operation if the temperature is below 115°F and rising towards that point.
