Trane SEN1286 4" Duct Immersion Temperature Sensor

The Trane SEN1286 is a duct immersion temperature sensor designed to be directly inserted into air ducts within Trane HVAC systems. The temperature sensor included in this set has a 4-inch probe constructed of galvanized steel. The probe is enclosed in a NEMA 1, IP30 weather proof housing to protect it from dust, water and other harsh conditions. This sensor works through the use of a thermistor which is a resistor that holds a resistance that changes with the temperature. When the temperature of air in the duct varies, the resistance of this thermistor equipment also varies depending on the range which is - 40° F to 210° F. The HVAC system can then use the resistance change and convert it into an electrical form that will suit temperature monitoring or even control.
