The Trane MOT16179 is an HVAC equipment AC motor that is an asynchronous 6-pole motor. It is a high power motor designed for use in applications that require constant airflow performance. Being an asynchronous motor, operating is based on electromagnetic induction and due to the circulation of electric current within the structures of the motor winding, the rotation of a magnetic field takes place. This rotating field in turn generates an electric current in the motor’s rotor which in turn produces counter magnetic field. The relationship between these two magnetic fields make the rotor rotate and thus produce a torque. Trane MOT16179 is used in almost all HVAC equipment such as air handling units, rooftop units, and furnace blowers.
