The Trane MOT16142 is a single-phase electric motor with a space-saving and modular casing suitable for use in different HVAC equipment such as furnaces and air handlers. It works on an AC electrical power of 230 volts and has a capacity of 1/12 horsepower only. This motor is known as an asynchronous or induction motor – that is, the stator creates a rotating magnetic field that induces a current in the rotor and thus makes it rotate. It operates at a speed of 1075 RPM in a CCW and uses rolling bearings for a quiet operation. The Trane MOT16142 consumes only 0.6 Amps of current and measures 11.7” in length making it suitable for numerous HVAC applications.
