The Reznor 202048 Auto Reset High Limit Switch is a thermostatic component that opens and closes its electrical contacts when the air temperature or heat exchanger reaches 240°F and closes again when the temperature drops below a secure range used in heating equipment for HVAC systems. This switch is installed in the combustion chamber, plenum, or heat exchanger of furnaces, unit heaters, or heating units and connected to the heating power control circuit to prevent overheating by turning off when operating at high temperatures and turning on when temperatures are within normal limits.
