Error codes:
Read the following error codes of the ICP furnace to understand the problem.
- ON/ OFF steady pattern for lockout problem
- 2 blinks- a problem in the pressure switch
- 3 blinks- an issue in the low-pressure switch
- 4 blinks- a fault in a limit circuit
- 5 blinks- flame-proving signal fault
- 6 blinks- ignition problem
- 7 blinks- lockout in limit circuit
- 8 blinks- lockout in gas heating
- 9 blinks- problem in medium pressure switch or high-pressure switch
- 10 blinks- Because of polarity
- Code 1+2- blower on after power-up
- Code 1+5- lockout in the blower motor
- Code 3+5- problem with gas fault
- Code 4+1- issue in the blower motor
- Code 4+2- fault in inducer motor
- Code 4+3- because of a low-pressure switch or medium-pressure switch
- Code 6+1- ignition lockout
Problems and Troubleshooting:
Furnaces give problems because of various reasons. Know more about problems and troubleshooting of the International comfort products’ furnace.
ICP furnace not starting:
Thermostat battery problem:
- Open the thermostat battery. Check battery power
- If the battery is totally discharged, then replace it
- And then set the switches of the thermostat on heat, and the fan set on auto
Failed breaker box:
- Inspect your furnace breaker box
- The breaker box is tripped
- Check the position of the switches, then set it on and reset the breaker
The problem with the pressure switch:
- Set the switch to ON mode
- Check if your furnace has turned off
- If the blower cover is open, then it prevents the furnace from running. So, close the cover definitely
Troubleshooting for condensate pump
- In high-efficiency condenser conditions, furnace water is produced as a byproduct
- You can remove extra water using the condensate pump
- The condensate pump has an overflow of safety switches
- Inspect if the pump motor is working properly or not and if there is any blockage
- If any blockage is found, then clear it or call service providers
Solution for safety switches problem:
- If your furnace is running on power, then the furnace is in a lockout
- Modern furnaces come with many switches. Because of that switch, shut down the furnace when safety switches show an unsafe condition
- Every time a lockout happens, the furnace shows flashing lights as color codes to identify the source of the shutdown
- All color codes are unique to each model
- Color codes help to find out the correct problem
- Read all color code meanings. If you did not understand call, local technical professionals
The furnace is not heating:
Faulty igniter:
- Remove igniter from the furnace
- Check for any cracks
- Or, use a multimeter to determine if there is a crack
- Because cracked ignitor breaks the electric circuit
- If there is no electric continuity, then you need to replace it
Malfunctioning flame sensor
- The malfunctioning flame sensor failed to detect a flame, causing the control board to shut off voltage to the gas valve
- If the flame sensor is dirty, then clean it with a fine abrasive pad
- If a still sensor does not work, then replace it
Faulty draft inducer motor
- When a draft motor is energized, pressurized, or a vacuum is created, activating a switch through a tube and port is located
- The damaged draft inducer motor may not maintain the proper airflow, stalling the ignition process knows that poor airflow is often the result of insufficient ventilation or a restricted exhaust vent
- Make your furnace in a systematic ventilated location and the exhaust vent is clear of obstructions
Failed control board
- The control board regulates the power supply to all the furnace components
- If the control board fails, it might not send voltage to the ignition system which will prevent the furnace from heating
- Fix the problem or replace the control board
Defective flame rollout switch
- A flame rollout switch monitors the heat surrounding the burner
- If there are airflow problems, the switch will open and halt the ignition process
- A defective flame rollout switch may open
- If the airflow is good, most rollout switches have a reset button. So, you should first press the button to confirm you can reset the switch as with the igniter.
- You can use a multimeter to test the electric continuity to determine if the part is in good condition or not
- Replace the damaged flame rollout switch
The malfunctioning gas valve assembly
- The gas valve opens to allow gas to enter the burner
- The malfunctioning valve may not open, as with the igniter and flame rollout switch
- You can use a multimeter to determine electrical continuity
- If the gas valve assembly is damaged, then we will need to replace it
Defective pressure switch
- Proper airflow will cause the pressure switch to close, allowing the ignition process to continue
- A defective pressure switch may not close again
- You can use a multimeter to test the continuity provided the switch is connected to the furnace and the draft inducer motor is running
