The Trane KIT2920 is a repair kit for 1/2" thermostatic traps in HVAC systems. Thermostatic traps are valves that prevent unnecessary airflow within a system but allow condensate water vapor to drain properly when cooling. The valve in these traps is opened and closed by a temperature-sensitive element. The trap remains open for drainage if cool condensate is present. The trap auto closes when the temperature rises or the flow condensate ceases so that warm room air does not mix into conditioned air.
