The Trane HTR12895 is a 40-watt, 230-volt crankcase heater for Trane HVAC systems. The oil is burned at a known temperature, and the oil is mounted in the crankcase which is the base of the compressor. This serves in ensuring proper operating temperatures during starting from cold,and also thicken oil viscosity. The crankcase heater brings the oil to the right temperature so that it does not wear out the compressor parts and so as to increase the Duration and efficiency of your Trane HVAC system.
