The Magnatrol G18A43SC-ACBW is a 3/4" normally closed (NC) solenoid valve used to control liquid flow in a variety of applications, including HVAC systems. It functions similarly to an electrically operated liquid switch. The valve stays closed, blocking liquid flow, when no electricity is provided. When flow must be stopped by default and only activated when necessary, this "normally closed" condition is perfect. When an electrical current is applied to the solenoid coil, it generates a magnetic field. A valve within is opened by this magnetic field, letting liquid pass through. A decent flow rate of liquids is made possible by the 3/4 inch dimension.
