Lennox 83L72 Flame Sensor

The Lennox 83L72 is a Flame Sensor which is a safety device in HVAC systems mainly designed for use in furnaces. This flame detector checks the condition of flame within the burner installation to ensure that the valve for the gas will only open once there is a fire. Flame monitoring is useful in preventing conditions that are hazardous such as cases of leakage of gas or an explosion resulting from accumulation of unburned gas. The sensor works by sending a small current across the flame, if a flame is detected, the current is taken back by control board meaning that combustion is occurring. Flame Sensor in a furnace enhances operating safety, ensures constant ignition, and enhances fuel consumption.
