The Johnson Controls EP-8000-4 Electro-Pneumatic Transducer is a multipurpose device for accurate control of air pressure in HVAC systems and Nonetheless, this compact device consumes only 4.5 VA of electricity. But unlike the EP-8000-2 type, it receives instructions from a building automation system using a 4-20 mA current signal instead of the 0-10 VDC voltage signal. The EP-8000-4 then amplifies this signal into a proportional pneumatic output of 3-15 PSI or 21-105 PSI, selectable by the user. In layman’s terms, it converts electrical signals into changes in air pressure in heating and cooling equipment.
