The Johnson Controls TE-631GV-2 Duct Mount Temperature Sensor, This sensor is fitted with a 4 – stainless steel probe with a 1K ohm nickel RTD temperature sensing element. The nickel element is used to measure the temperature as air flows through the duct. RTDs are characterized by a direct proportionality between temperature and electrical resistance. In other words, resistance rises with temperature and falls with air cooling. This resistance variation is then transmitted in the form of a signal to the building’s HVAC control system. This signal is received by the control system, which in turn regulates heating and cooling equipment in order to maintain a comfortable temperature of the building.
