Johnson Controls TE-6311M-1 8" Duct Temperature Sensor 1K OHM

The Johnson Controls TE-6311M-1 Duct Temperature Sensor from Johnson Controls is designed to accurately quantify the air temperatures in HVAC duct systems. This sensor has an 8” probe made of strong metal for durability throughout its working period. The probe consists of a 1K ohm nickel Resistance Temperature Detector element. It also has a nickel element that measures temperature fluctuations as air flows through the duct. The electrical resistance of the RTD is dependent on temperature and varies inversely with it. In other words, resistance rises with temperature and falls with cooling. This change of resistance outputs a signal to the HVAC control system of the automobile. The control system ‘reads’ this signal as a condition to vary the heating or cooling equipment to maintain a comfortable temperature in the building.
