The Rheem-Ruud 47-21777-04 Defrost Sensor Limit Switch is an HVAC part which is used to regulate the defrosting in the system. This switch is of SPST type and is set to open at 50 degrees F and close at 28 degrees F so as to control the temperature. It is meant for use with both 120 and 230 VAC systems and as such can be used in different HVAC systems. The contact orientation is open on the rise, this means that the switch opens when the temperature rises to fifty degrees F.
