Trane COM8246 Scroll Compressor is a powerful unit for cooling business and industrial structures and uses R-22 refrigerant. Unlike the conventional piston compressor, this Trane compressor is a scroll type of compressor. In the sealed housing, there are two scrolls in parallel meshing with each other to discharge the refrigerant gas and make high pressure at the moderate speed of 2900 RPM. This design is equivalent to a 5-ton capacity (58,500 BTUH) that can handle heavy cooling loads. Brazed stub tubes (discharge size ½”) are used to provide leakage-proof circulation of refrigerants.
