The Trane CNT09418 2-stage Control Board can be used in plenty of types of HVAC system equipment, especially air conditioners, and heat pumps. As a central part, it is responsible for the control of the heating and cooling cycles by the various stages of the compressor and blower motor. This staged control leads to better temperature control and energy usage than single-stage systems due to the staging control. The board gets information from the thermostat and other sensors and then switches on the right stages of the equipment to the required temperature.
