Trane CNT0747 Low Pressure Cut-Out Switch 7 PSI Open/22 PSI Close

The Trane CNT0747 is an essential safety accessory needed for any Trane HVAC system which is intended to safeguard the compressor from low pressure. This small piece is only 2.0” in length, 1.0” in width and is only 0.03” high yet it is a rather powerful component. It works as a low voltage cut out switch that has provision for quick connection, thus making it easy to install. Typically this is open circuit while in normal operation, the circuit allows electrical current to flow to the compressor when system pressure is normal. But if the pressure decreases below 7 PSI, meaning a refrigerant leakage or system problem, the switch shuts off the system for the prevention of compressor damage.
