The Amana-Goodman ASC01A Anti Short-Cycle Kit is a part that is used to stop short cycling of air conditioning and heat pump systems. Short cycling is when the system switches on & off frequently and is detrimental to its efficiency, causes component wear and tear, and equipment failure. This kit operates by increasing the minimum on-time of the compressor. If the thermostat demands cooling or heating, the system will operate for a fixed minimum amount of time, regardless of whether the temperature has been achieved.
