The Copeland 998-0550-05 Compressor Fan Motor is a replacement, designed for use in specific Copeland compressors found in air conditioners and refrigerators. The compressor does all labour in this operation by perpetually transferring refrigerant through coils that remain cool and absorb heat from inside while releasing it outside. It generates heat as a result, with the compressor fan motor doing a big job of maintaining its temperature low. The motor drives a fan blade which causes air circulation over the compressor and taking away heat then dissipating it into the atmosphere.
