The Rheem-Ruud 61-103652-07 is a 2-ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) that is required in the air conditioning system that you have. This valve is useful especially for controlling the flow of the refrigerant and is suitable for R-410A refrigerant system having 2 ton cooling capacity. This is unlike a normal on/off switch which is independent while the TXV operates as the pressure dependent control unit. Air blowing over the evaporator coil of an air conditioner makes the refrigerant to heat up from high pressure liquid state to low pressure gaseous state.
