The Spirax-Sarco 54531C TD52 is a 3/4-inch stainless steel automated steam trap used in a variety of applications. To effectively remove condensate from heat lines, it makes use of the difference in density between steam and condensate (water). As condensate cools and gathers in the trap, a disc closes to prevent steam from escaping. The disc opens and releases the condensate when it warms up and reverts to steam. By ensuring that steam lines remain hot and condensate doesn't accumulate, this cycle not only helps prevent water hammering, which can harm pipes and equipment, but it also increases system efficiency.
