The Trane VAL4470 expansion valve with 4.5" in length and is an essentialpart of the working refrigeration system. Its essentialrole is of a thermostatic expansion valve that controls the evaporator coil temperature. This is accomplished by using a thermal actuator that responds to temperature change and expands or contracts as a function of temperature and changes the position of the valve. This ultra-tight control ensures refrigerant flux to provide maximum heat absorption from the environment, with minimum risk of flooding in the evaporator coil. The valve itself is a simple straight-through design with sweat connections to help ensure stable installation within the refrigeration system.
